Off-road Instruction and Adventures

In conjunction with our sister company, Johnny G Adventures, our off-road class offers a unique opportunity to discover the stunning beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains in a way that few others get to experience.

Led by experienced and knowledgeable guides, our off-road class takes you on a journey through the heart of the Sierra Nevada wilderness, where you'll encounter challenging obstacles, steep inclines, and jaw-dropping scenery that will take your breath away.  Our classes are designed for beginner and intermediates looking to better understand the capabilities and features of your 4x4, how to navigate natural obstacles, and how to "spot" your companions through difficult sections.  Naturally we ensure your safety and preservation of the environment.

Highlights from past classes

July 22 ~ 24,  2022 Rubicon Adventure

3-Day adventure tackling the infamous Rubicon Trail.  Rated as a Level 10 trail, this is for hard core enthusiasts with capable vehicles and an appetite for adventure.

October 15, 2022 MetalCloak Skilz Day

MetalCloak Skillz Day created an event for NEW Jeep Owners to come and develop their off-roading Skillz in a safe and supervised environment.  Tahoe Driving Academy was invited to volunteer train.

October 16, 2022 Deer Valley

6.5-mile point-to-point trail near Markleeville, California. Generally considered a challenging route, it is a popular trail for camping and off-road driving.  Today, we had both Jeeps, Landcruisers, and Side-by-Sides.
