Description: The Barney Riley Adventure is a 3-day, 2-night remote off-road getaway combining rugged trail driving with comfortable glamping in one of the Sierra’s most scenic hidden areas. The trip leads participants into a secluded backcountry setting above the Carson River, with access to natural hot springs, swimming holes, campfires, and wide-open spaces. Along the way, guests can enjoy off-road exploration, target shooting, riverside relaxation, and the kind of unplugged outdoor experience that feels far removed from everyday life.

Difficulty: 4/10 Moderate. Most of this trail is easy, but several steep, rocky sections will test novice drivers. Stock 4x4 SUVs can do it, but skid plates and moderate ground clearance are recommended. Recent weather has increased it's difficulty with numerous ruts and washouts.

The trail combines technical rock crawling, granite slabs, pine forests, alpine lakes, mountain vistas, and historic backcountry scenery, with highlights including Loon Lake, Buck Island Lake, and Rubicon Springs.
